So, when we moved into this new place, I think I whinged a lot about "how much I hate going through boxes, but at least I won't have to do it for quite a while now, which is great, because nostalgia attacks can be alright, but only when you're not deciding what to keep and what to chuck, and also the stress of writing a thesis (as miniature as it may be) and packing up and moving (as close by as it may be) is wah wah poor me poor me what a hard life #firstworldproblems, so it's really good that I won't have to do this for a while".

Well. In the flurry of the move I sort of, ahem, forgot about all these boxes I'd packed and put in the garage, like, three years earlier. So we just put them on the truck and now they're sitting in my bedroom and I'm going through them, one wine box of memories at a time, and deciding what to keep and what to chuck. This makes me Not A Happy Puppy for the most part (because I am a whiny mcwhinester) BUT: I forge ahead.

So, it's not that I've not enjoyed recent Arashi shows/media/etc. or anything, because I have! I really have. There's been some classic moments, some adorable things have happened, laughs have been had. Arashi has been good to me. BUT: nothing has been as good as the My Girl making of, for me, in a long, long time. I know a lot of it probably has to do with my mood, whether or not I've been REALLY INTO what I'm watching AND SUCH; but whatever the reason, this making of (compared, say, to the Crazy Moon one that's equally fresh) almost made me bust into song (1950's American musical style) for the LOVE OF ARASHI. There were great little moments, yes, but less than classic clips for the ages, it was the vibe of the thing. It was just so - so - 嵐.

WELL WHATEVER. screw my ineloquence, in summary: IT VIBED ENOUGH FOR ME TO MAKE, THAT'S RIGHT, 644 SCREENCAPS. I'm not posting them all here (saved that for you suckers following ghostygifs, nyah nyah) but I do want to share some of my thoughts, feelings, and oh so important impressions :3 :3 :333

Okay, so, today I had to buy a scanner so that I could, uh, scan in images for my thesis. MY DAYS ARE NUMBERED. by which there is limited time left for me to do all these last minute tying-up details, let alone all the major edits I need to do. (by which I mean I have rediscovered pokémon. did you know there's an item called the CHESTO BERRY? yeah. I lolled.

This is all my way of saying that I took the opportunity "a day of scanning" provided to a.) fill out that "handwriting meme" that's been so popular these days, and b.) rewatch arashi's kokuritsu DVD in the background. Well, it started out as "in the background" and then I kept spotting moments that made me either literally shriek like a baby girl, OR, screencap. Sometimes, both :(

The Pioneer Woman! I sort of picked this site at random but Ree takes amazing photographs, doles out amazing recipes, and serves up the witty commentary. You can't ask for much more! Basically she's an LA chic who moved to the country when she got married, so the whole "unique part" of this personal blog is not only that she's witty & her photographs & recipes are amazing, but it all takes place on a real, live ranch.

Expect lots of cows, sweeping sunsets, and hearty food. It's beautiful. (Also I haven't looked at the actual site in ages because I read it off NET NEWS WIRE aka rss feed which I also haven't looked at in aaaaages oops, but basically check out the "CONFESSIONS" and then the "COOKING" tab is my recommendation. The others are great too but those are my faaaaves.)


(also I updated my layout and I LOVE IT. it has tacky tapestry wallpaper and rounded edges and mustard yellow & teal blue mmmmm. it was my big accomplishment of the day and boy does that feel great.)
